"The colour of magic" Terry Pratchett

"Terry Pratchett was born in 1948 and still is not dead." were the words often seen on the dust jackets of the numerous Pratchett's books. Sadly, as of 12th March 2015 the "still not dead" part is no longer true.

It's been nine years since Pratchett walked with DEATH, but the Discworld stays alive and well.

Can I pick my favourite book from the Discworld series for the purpose of this blog?

No, sorry!

I just love them all, for their humour, for the magic that takes me on endless adventures with Granny Weatherwax, the guards of Ankh-Morpork or the wizzards from Unseen University. For a relatively small, flat world placed on the backs of four elephants which are standing on the back of a turtle, there sure is a lot going on.

And if you want to join the adventure, a good place to start is at the beginning, although in principle the novels are stand-alone works.

First book in the series, „The colour of magic”, is a funny, sometimes silly, tale of a great expedition to the edge of the world. Along the way, there are dragons, wizzards and The Luggage. The book is brilliantly translated to Polish by Piotr W. Cholewa, so you can have the best of both worlds- read te original and then „Kolor magii”.

Either way, you are in for a treat!
